The Halifax, Nova Scotia based band Riot Squad, fronted by Jamie Gatti, has been blowing away audiences since 2010. The band has been playing at Stayners Wharf on a regular basis, as well as at The Halifax Jazz Festival. With their unique instrumental sound, this tour-de-force Jazz/Jam ensemble takes listeners on a new journey every every performance. Steeped in the genres of Jazz/Funk/Rock/Exploratory music the band performs original music.

This powerful Quintet consists of Chris Mitchell – saxes, Rick Waychesko – trumpet, Geordie Haley – guitar, David Burton – drums and Jamie Gatti – bass. All are first call session vets on the East Coast music scene.

Innovative Gemeinhardt Artist/Clinician, Rozalind MacPhail recently took home an ECMA for Electronic Recording of the Year and MusicNL’s Female Artist of the Year. One of the world’s leaders in flute looping and live film scoring, this classically-trained flutist blends effected flute, electronics, voice, omnichord, field recordings and silent film through Ableton Live. MacPhail creates music for film and live performance and has released several albums of original work. She explores new ways to combine image and sound, in works that speak honestly of place, person and the human experience.
