Scholarships & Awards: Halifax 2018

Every group participating in AFM Halifax receives a trophy. In partnership with Long & McQuade, the festival also recognizes outstanding performances by soloists.

Outstanding Soloists

Long and McQuade trophies will be awarded to students who play an outstanding solo during their performance at Atlantic Festivals of Music.

Outstanding Soloist Awards will be announced at the evening concerts. To be eligible, students must be listed on the Soloist form supplied to the director.

Festival Scholarships

Berklee College of Music Scholarships

Berklee College of Music is pleased to offer scholarships to the following Summer Performance Programs: the Five Week Summer Performance Program, Bass Lines, Brass Weekend, Guitar Sessions, Percussion Festival, Saxophone Weekend, String Fling or Stage Performance Workshop. These scholarships will be awarded in the following amounts: one award of 50% of tuition, two awards of 35% of tuition and three awards of 25% of tuition each applicable to any of the Summer Performance Programs listed above. Acadia Summer Music Academy Scholarships

Acadia University is proud to offer two tuition scholarships to attend the Summer Music Academies Concert Band Camp in Wolfville, NS. The tuition scholarships are valued at $360 each. You can learn about the camp and find links to registration online at music.openacadia.ca.

AFM Halifax offers awards that are based solely on the recommendation of the adjudicators. Therefore awards may not necessarily be presented in all categories.
